How to book

There are various concerts, plays, comedians and music acts that are occurring throughout the year. These performances are available either at Hull City Hall or Hull New Theatre.

Hull City Hall

Hull City Hall offers a wide range of events each year, hosting top international names in contemporary live music as well as headline comedy acts, the world’s leading orchestras, celebrities, adventurers, drama, musicals, opera and more.

It also hosts community and business events such as conferences, fairs, degree ceremonies, school concerts, awards, talent shows and exhibitions as well as private celebrations, including weddings, banqueted and social occasions.

The outside balcony at the front of the building overlooking Queen Victoria Square is the spot where famous faces and dignitaries have gathered for the annual Christmas lights switch-on for many years and where the city’s sporting stars have celebrated their achievements in front of crowds of supporters.

Hull New Theatre

Hull New Theatre has now re-opened after extensive £16million refurbishment with improved access including -

  • Easily accessible foyer and entrance
  • Increased number of wheelchair spaces in the stalls
  • Improved accessible toilet provision
  • Newly installed lift providing access to various floors

A ‘VMAX Jordy’ headset is available for visually impaired patrons. The headset must be booked in advance. A refundable £10.00 deposit and some form of identification are required.

Guide dogs are welcome; please inform the box office at the time of booking.

Sennheiser infra-red system headsets are available from the Duty Manager for a refundable deposit of £10.00 or a current driving license. Please ask the box office at time of booking on suitability of the system and the most appropriate seating.

Personnel Assistance scheme

Hull City Hall and Hull New Theatre are committed to ensuring that all customers can access our events and offer a scheme to support customers (both individuals and groups) who would not be able to attend our venues without the assistance of an essential carer.
